Introducing The New Lovin Dublin Boss

niallharbison

This time last year Lovin Dublin was a small blog. It was just myself posting a review and a recipe a couple of times a week. It was a side project that just mushroomed. I eventually started hiring some really talented people and we quickly grew to a team of 6 full time staff working on many unique and exciting projects. It’s safe to say that most of this has happened by accident and none of us saw it coming. We haven’t ever stopped for a moment to draw breath but it’s becoming clear that a brilliant, strong brand is being built and we’d like to take that to the next level. As with all businesses the key is bringing in people who are smarter than you are and our new GM certainly ticks that box!

Introducing The Head Honcho – Graham Kinsella

I had to sift through over 300 super candidates and we eventually whittled it down to one very talented individual… Graham Kinsella. Graham is a marketing guru who has been involved in creating many worlds firsts, he was part of the first ever video podcast in Ireland, he was the first to bring GoPro to Ireland, he pretty much invented online advertising, he’s also an expert on grocery e-tailing, traditional media and advertising. Graham joins us from dunnhumby who are the leaders in customer science. dunnhumby collects shopping data for over 600m customers world wide and focuses on customer loyalty. Graham decided to join Lovin Dublin as he knew it was a start up with massive potential.  He has the ambition to grow Lovin Dublin into a global media brand.

“I am excited to join the team and work on the top class ideas that we are planning to test and explore. We have grand ambitions to expand into many more cities but we will always be true to our home city, Dublin. I want to create a media company that is famous world wide, disrupting the traditional big guys by giving people what they want, when they want it!”

Future Plans

In just one short year we’ve grown Lovin Dublin to a site with over 400,000 monthly visitors, and that number is growing all the time. We’ve launched Lovin Berlin, an appa full visual search engine, a wicked event and are getting the ball rolling on Lovin Trends. That’s a huge undertaking and it needs managing. Graham will be running the company and making sure all our super ideas become a reality. Its what we’ll do in the next year that will really surprise people as we push hard on the accelerator while also staying true to our roots. I’ll be able to go back to producing more reviews, recipes and content in new and exciting areas, which is what got us started and what is key to the future. Thanks for joining us on this journey so far and we hope you’ll stick with us and watch as we continue to grow and expand.
