Lovin Dublin Seeks A Savagely Good General Manager

niallharbison

Its been a pretty crazy 6 months for Lovin Dublin as the site, brand and community continues to grow. What started out as a small personal blog has quickly grown into a small business that now employs 4 people full time (and a couple more part time) and we’d like to add a 5th very important member to our team. We are looking for a general manager. Somebody to lead the team on towards even bigger things and to keep the traction going.

The Role

We’d love to say there was a job out there that already existed that we could compare this to but the reality is there isn’t. You’ll need to wear a few different caps for this job but you will be joining and incredibly energetic, hungry (in every sense of the word) and driven team. You’ll be responsible for..

  • Maintaining budgets
  • Managing the existing team
  • Managing sales targets
  • Rolling out new product launches with support from the team
  • Managing logistics
  • Helping with international expansion
  • HR

You’ll have support from myself and the world class team that we have already built.

We are looking for the right candidate to start straight away and depending on experience and what you can bring to the role the salary will be between €45,000 and €55,000 + bonus. You’ll be reporting into myself and one other person directly.

International Approach

We’ve had great success in Dublin with 400,000 people getting to know their city better every month. While Dublin will always be where the heart is we think we can help people in other cities as well. Just like with everything we do the cities we launch in next are probably not the ones you would expect them to be. You’ll be involved in the planning stages but you should be thinking big.

Logistics

With hundreds of boxes being sold every week and more physical products on the way we are moving a lot of stuff around. We have a lot of customers to keep happy and pride ourselves on world class service. We also work with clients who see us as a way of reaching lots of local consumers so you’ll have to be excellent at managing stock, building relationships and generally getting shit done.

Events

We only teased our first event last week but the current team have been busy prepping something insanely cool for later in the summer. As we continue to build the brand both in Ireland and abroad events will play a key role in what we are trying to achieve.

So Could It Be You?

This is a very unique position and in some ways it can be as big and challenging as your own imagination is. Why couldn’t Lovin Dublin employ 100s of people? Be in 50 cities? Feed 10s of thousands of people and build game changing events all over the world?

Just because we are an online community doesn’t mean you need huge tech knowledge either. In some ways we have that covered and skills from a completely different industry would be very useful. Mostly you should be super organized, meticulous with detail, aware of the brand we are building and willing to work really hard as part of a brilliant team. More than anything you should see the bigger picture here and appreciate this is a start up but one with huge ambition.
