The Lovin Group Is Moving To Manchester – And We’re Looking For Journalists To Lead The Charge!

Well, this is exciting.

After three massively successful years in Dublin, a fantastic launch for Lovin.ie, along with our new partner sites in Dubai and Malta, we’re finally ready to take the next step in our journey.

Next step, you say?

Correct. We’re delighted to announce: Lovin Manchester!

To make it work, we’ll be hiring a full team to operate from our slick offices in the centre of the city – and right now, we’re on the hunt to find those people.

So what does it involve?

In short, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of content on the Lovin Manchester platforms – the website, social media, video, written, everything – covering food, drink, lifestyle, culture, sport and whatever else tickles the fancy of our audience.

You’ll have a healthy contributor budget at your disposal, meaning you can build a team of the best and brightest talent in the city – and you’ll be tasked with coming up with ideas, building traffic, and ensuring we’re a brand on the lips of everyone in the Greater Manchester area.

If you’re the ideal candidate, you’ll be much more than an excellent writer – you’ll be our person on the ground, and you’ll need to:

Know Manchester inside-out – the city, the people, and what makes them tick;
Be brimming with ideas for content;
Be well versed in forward planning, and budget management;
Be comfortable working with videographers, designers and external contributors, in order to shape this site into something far ahead of other online publications;
Adore good spelling and grammar, and have an eagle-eyed attention to detail.

Ideally, you’ll have two years’ experience working in online publishing, but this isn’t absolutely essential.

And finally, as you’ll be based in our offices in central Manchester, reporting to the editor of the Lovin Group who’s based in Dublin, you’ll be a fun-loving, positive and ambitious individual who can lead things from the ground – and bring the Lovin brand to life in a whole new city.
