Dublin's pretty damn great for food. We're quite literally spoilt for choice by umpteen places that offer amazing food, fab environments and reasonable prices.
Eating out should provide a pleasant experience, and one that the bank account shouldn't always hold us back from. Thankfully there are heaps of bars and restaurants that allow us to cut the cost of dining, even at peak times of the day.
So here's a list of some amazing meal deals around Dublin that you must take advantage of…
1. The 51 Bar
Well known for being the best place to grab a pint after a match in the Aviva – but did you know they do great food as well?
The classic fish and chips are actually to die for.
And the best part? From Monday to Saturday, this place does a €12 meal deal. This includes a main course and pint/bottle of beer or a glass of wine/soft drink. Enjoy your meal on a sunny day on their outdoor terrace, or hide away from the rain in the warmth of a cosy pub.
Unreaaaal.
2. 777
You've probably already heard of 777 Sundays, when this spot offers all dishes and special cocktails for €7.77 from 2pm to 10pm. Sure you're practically making money!
And if you didn't have enough, you can pop into 777 for their 2-for-1 Margarita Monday, as well!
Spot on.
3. Catch-22
Catch-22 has the most delicious and varied fish menu that we've ever seen in Dublin. They only charge €10 for anything on the menu during lunch hour.
The combination of their brilliant outdoor terrace and quality lunch deal will have you wishing you were there every afternoon.
Sooo fresh.
4. Skinflint
This delicious pizza joint already makes their menu quite affordable, but as a bonus, they offer 2-for-1 Mondays.
That's right – you can have two of anything on their extensive pizza menu for the price of one.
Get there on a Monday, and make sure you're staaarvin'.
5. The Meeting House
Similar to 777, this spot does all their dishes and cocktails for €6.66 on Sundays and Mondays. You can even enjoy your asian tapas and Pornstar Martinis outside on their heated terrace.
What better way to kickstart the week?
6. Cinnamon Restaurants
Here's a spot where you can get a burger (beef, chicken or veggie), chips and a beer for only €15.
Head over to Ranelagh next week for the burger and beer night – the offer runs every Wednesday from 7pm -9pm, and the place is always hoppin'.
7. Platform61
Step into this underground haven for the nicest meal you've had all week. The place is beauitfully decorated, and their food is loaded with flavour.
Pay Platform61 a visit on a Wednesday and they'll sort you with half price steaks. Absolutely brill.
8. Farrier & Draper
We know you've all been dying to try this brand new place. The perfect time to test their Italian cuisine would be lunch, as they're offering a special that you just can't pass up.
It's €10 a lunch, including their fresh pasta of the day, seasoned side salad and olive oil focaccia.
Buon appetito!
9. The Long Stone
Looking for a classic Irish pub to sit down and have a bite over lunch? Here's your spot. The menu has anything from hearty stew to veggie pasta to curry to chicken, and of course chips – so you're bound to find something nice.
They also do a half price ‘Ladies Portion’ at lunch – you'll get a ridiculous amount of food just by pretending to be a lady.
Niiiice.
10. Fade Street Social
If you haven't experienced this spot's unreal food and drink yet, Mondays are the day to do so. I was absolutely floored when I heard about this deal – all mojitos and tapas are a mere fiver.
Yep, €5 for their famous minty mojitos, paired with a €5 dish of pumpkin macaroni with spring onion and parmesan. Or whatever suits your fancy on the extensive tapas menu.
Don’t @ us. We’re well aware some may think it is still too early for the mention of the C word, but when it comes to booking the group or couples dinners that populate Christmas week, you need to be organised well in advance. If you’ve got your eye on certain restaurants, waiting any longer […]
We’re in the final countdown. Yes, we have speculated whether this 20 year old trend is slowly dying, perhaps evident by the fact there aren’t more cafés whipping up pumpkin spice and everything nice on this list, but basic as it may be, it’s a celebration of autumn in my eyes, and I can’t help but […]

Dublin is glutted with literary magazines. They’re ten a penny; if today’s penny is actually €15 each. In 2017 Justine Carbery wrote in The Irish Independent “literary journals proved to be constant stars in a fluctuating market. From refreshing newbs to reliable classics Despite the increasingly adverse trading conditions for service in Dublin, we’ve never had such strong restaurant offerings. Not even at the peak of the Celtic Tiger did we have such a plethora of passionate food creatives doing bits and making waves. So to help you navigate the best of […]
(and Always) It’s never been more vital to support Queer-Owned Spaces in Dublin. Put your money where your morals are as often as you can. As someone who has worked in hospitality, I know that the people who run our bars, restaurants, and cafés shape the atmosphere more than the decor or the playlist ever […]
No More Paddywhackery: On July 24th in New Orleans, Irish House Will Showcase a New Era of Irish Hospitality and Innovation If you’re Irish, you know that home is a complicated place. You’ll also know there’s a specific kind of awkwardness you feel walking into an Irish bar abroad. It’s an itch of embarrassment you […]
