5 Parties To Check Out During Next Week's Paddy's Day Festivities

Not long now 'til the whole country checks out mentally for a few days, to celebrate some shnakes being banned from our little island...

It can be tricky deciding where to go, particularly when town can be so packed and you've got a crew on the hustle. So here are a few suggestions, just make sure you get your tickets sharpish!

Whether you're planning on heading out on Paddy's eve, or on the day itself, there's something for everyone...

Paddy's Eve

Mother March 16

11pm, The Church, Mary Street, D1.

Oh baby! A Mother shindig in basement of a 300 year old church on Mary St, what could possibly go wrong?! Crazy P Soundsystem, Kelly Anne Byrne and Nialler9 joining the legendary Mother djs on the night. Faaaaack. Grab tickets here while you still can.

Out to Lunch presents Young Marco + Intergalactic Gary

10pm, Tengu, Grand Strand Street, D1.

Amsterdam native DJ, producer and certified cool dude Young Marco will be bringing his bag of tricks to Tengu for a delish five hour set. A brilliant foliage-filled smoking area and plenty of room for a dance no matter how energetic you're feeling. Young Marco will be playing downstairs, with the rest of the crew holding court on the first floor. Get down!

Bodytonic Present: Andrew Weatherall

11pm, Wigwam, Middle Abbey Street, D1.

The Bodytonic lads are throwing a bit of a hootenany to ring in Paddy's Day at Wigwam. Andrew Weatherall, the absolute champ, will be taking to the basement for an evening of absolute belters with support from Shane L and Tayor on the night too. I guess it's just as well they raised the ceiling during the renovations, so...

Paddy's Day

Sim Simma All Day Bashment

2pm, Wigwam, Middle Abbey Street, D1.

Whenever you roll out of bed, grab some Solpadeine and get down to Wigwam for some soothing reggae. There'll be loads of fun activities like dancehall classes, African drumming, ping-pong tournaments, face painting and reggae yoga. Tunes will be provided by none other than the Sim Simma DJs and it's free in all day. Oh, and did we mention that Wigwam have 100 different rums for you to try out, and they'll be serving food all day? Flawless Paddy's Day plans.

Local Talk - Mats & Tooli

This brilliant pair's knowledge of house music is endless, making their sets are an absolute treat to witness with the odd bit of disco, soul and funk flung in for good measure. With support from Keith Dalton on the night too, this promises to be a good wan!
