Movember Ireland Is Introducing Movember SpeakEasy To Encourage Men To Talk About Mental Health

Alan Fisher

Movember is just around the corner and men all over the world are getting ready to grow their ronnie’s out.

I really can’t grow facial hair for my life but I think I’ll be joining this year.

Anyway, the Movember Foundation is the only charity tackling men’s health on a global scale, year-round.

By 2030, it will reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25%. Since it started, millions have joined the movement, raising $710 million to help fund over 1,200 men’s health projects focusing on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention.

Ahead of the 2019 campaign, Movember Ireland has introduced Movember SpeakEasy.

This is a series of events built with a male lens, to encourage men to feel comfortable about having ‘real’ conversations when it comes to talking about mental health.

Bringing together a group of guys in a relaxed setting, the team at Tomorrow Man will kick-off the SpeakEasy series by providing useful tips on how to look after yourself better and those around you.

A celebration of meaningful connection, Mo Sistas are also encouraged to attend on the night and join in on the conversation to better improve men’s health.

This is such an important topic and a great campaign so make sure you get involved.

It will be taking place on Friday, October 19 between 6-9 pm in The Well on Stephen’s Green.
