Sweet dreams are made of cheese, who am I to diss a brie?
Today is National Cheese Lover's Day after all...
So here you go, these are the 10 best cheeseboards available in Dublin...
Not only do these guys do some of the heartiest pub grub you'll ever taste, but their cheeseboard supplied by Sheridan's Cheesemongers is exactly what you want after a few scoops. Pair it with one of their beer tasting boards to really get the full effect. A gouda start to the list...
This spot down at the IFSC does pretty much everything amazingly, but serious props have to go for its charcuterie and cheeseboards. Splurge and go for the bigger serving – it'll brie worth it!
Their meat and cheese platter with roast vegetables, tapenades and artisan breads has to be tasted to be believed! It's technically for sharing, but think caerphilly before you opt to split this deliciousness with someone else.
Tucked away in Ranelagh you'll find some of Dublin's best tapas, and a fantastic selection of tablas – go for the 'Tabla de Quesos' with manchego, talleggio, blue cheese and fontina. You'd be emmental not to.
This place is a very welcome newcomer to Dublin's late bar scene. You'll be very fondue their range of pairing plates and sharing boards, and their presentation is absolutely gorgeous.
Another delightful addition to the city, you'll find great value for money and super-friendly staff here. There's coeliac-friendly bread available on request and all, if you camembert to eat gluten.
Where do we even begin? Head down some evening after work, order a bottle of red and work your way through the menu! Their manchego and iberico board is massive and only costs €12 – ibericos out the door fairly quickly, so you'd best to get down here early.
Go for the large cheeseboard here which consists of sliced parmesan, blue cheese, smoked cheddar and brie. It's served with a balsamic honey that's so sweet you'd be feta off drinking it straight out of the jug.
The Wine Cellar in the basement of Fallon & Byrne takes all the ingredients for their sharing boards straight from the amazing deli upstairs. It's served in a real traditional way with quince jelly, grapes and crusty French bread to smear the brie on. Edam, that's good.
Yes we know it's a bit pricey but my god, there's something very special about a restaurant that has not only a Michelin star, but also a menu dedicated entirely to cheese.
€35 will get you a selection of every type of cheese on this menu – definite bucket list meal for any serious cheese fans out there. Absolutely Reblochonary.
