The Top 10 Steaks In Dublin In 2015

niallharbison

When it comes to eating out so many people put a good steak at the very top of their list. It is one of those things that so few people can do well at home (although you can with this recipe) and the thought of a professional chef cooking up a huge juicy steak is the dream. Of course, not all steaks are equal so we wanted to make your job a little easier and pick the 10 best steaks in Dublin. You could always try one each week all the way through to April…

10th. L’Gueuleton

A French style steak in every sense of the word. The chips and the sauce are nearly as good as the steak itself and the whole dish is French Brasserie cooking at it’s best. Not too big either so the perfect lunch steak!

You’d expect a restaurant dedicated to meat to be pretty good at steak, I’m happy to report that they don’t let you down. There are lots of different cuts of meat in here, but I have to say the bavette is full of flavour and a new experience for Irish people.

8th. The Chop House

A wonderful gastro pub that acts as the perfect place to go before any event in the Aviva. Casual pub layout, but great restaurant style food. Make sure you come with a serious appetite though as portions are huge.

7th. Marco Pierre White – Dawson Street

One of the most famous chefs in the world, and although he is clearly not cooking the food himself anymore, the staff are incredible. This is on the pricey side of things, but melt-in-your-mouth good, and cooked with military precision.

6th. Brookwood

This is a new arrival on the list but this classic steak house delivers in spades when it comes to their signature dish. Again you’ll be paying top dollar for the food, but the ingredients and preperation are superb.

5th. Asador

A high end BBQ joint that cook all their meat on the open fire Argentinian style – the steak with all the trimmings is something to behold here.

4th. Shanahan’s

The place to go for a bit of a treat, if you want something special. You’ll get served like a king, have huge side dishes and a steak that has been corn fed.

3rd. Darwin’s

Bit of a hidden gem and not as “sexy” as some of the other restaurants on the list, but the people who have had the steak here can vouch that it’s one of the very best in town.

2nd. The Butcher Grill

Small restaurant in the heart of Ranelagh, and as the name suggests they have a huge focus on steaks. They often have awesome specials on the menu, but the T-Bone For 2 with all the sides is the stuff that dreams are made of.

It was nearly impossible to decide between them and the Butchers Grill but FXBs take the top spot because their steaks are absolutely superb, and because they serve them in 4 different locations at an incredibly high level. Add in craft beers, great service and the ability to watch matches while eating, and this is the best steak in Dublin this year.
