You and a lucky friend could be heading along to The Open Gate Brewery on June 8 for an exclusive food and drink experience, Taste of Beer. This is a fringe event to celebrate The Open Gate Brewery’s partnership with Taste of Dublin.
The entire evening is inspired by experimental beers created in the brewery, where Guinness brewers express their creative bravery and passions. For one night only, the Brewers have welcomed a number of food innovators into the experimental Brewery at St James’s Gate to showcase their food ranges alongside the latest experimental brews.
The response to the brewery has been amazing since it opened in December, and for the very first time they're opening the doors to the public by giving us pairs of tickets to give away to Taste of Beer!
This is a rare chance to taste these new brews that include a creamy Nitro IPA, a luxurious Chocolate & Vanilla Stout and a Tropical IPA. The Taste of Dublin Strawberry Porter will also be available at the Open Gate Brewery for the month of June & visitors to Taste of Dublin Festival.
And on this particular night, they’re doing something verrrry interesting: they’ve teamed up with Taste of Dublin, different Irish foodies and companies to serve delicious dishes that have been created specially to compliment the experimental brews at The Open Gate Brewery
The chefs have used the experimental brews as a inspiration catalyst for all the food served at Taste of Beer – so you can expect amazing food from Cúlcow ice cream, The Little Milk Company cheeses, The Cupcake Bloke, The Natural Bakery, The Asian Supermarket and chef Simon Lamont!
The pop ups will be located around the brewery all serving different brew inspired foods, so it's a total dream setup really.
We've all seen how beer has evolved from simply being a drink into a culture of its own – and Guinness want to celebrate that at this Taste of Beer event. The Taste of Beer event is also an opportunity to celebrate the partnership between The Open Gate Brewery & Taste of Dublin, and create innovative food dishes that complement the experimental brews at The Open Gate Brewery.
Padraig Fox, The Open Gate Brewery's General Manager, said of the idea behind The Open Gate Brewery:
It's just about giving people a chance to taste some of the experiments our brewers have been trying out over the last couple of months. Some we will have an eye on launching further down the line, but the vast majority will never make it outside these walls.
See Open Gate Brewery at Taste of Dublin from 16 - 19 of June.
