5 Of The Best Things To Do In Dublin This Weekend

AmyBell

Ah, the glorious weekend is here yet again.

Nothing will beat that lie in that you will get in the morning after a busy week of work but what will you do after a good long sleep?

If you’ve nothing planned for the weekend, we have the scoop on top things to check out around Dublin if any of these tickle your fancy.

From comedy to several festivals, we have the 5 things you need to check out.

1. Oktoberfest, George’s Dock

If you’re a massive fan of beer this is the only place you will want to be this weekend. The German beer fest kicked off this Thursday with George’s Dock being transformed into its very own little Germany with traditional beer, costumes and food.

The festival itself runs until October 1 and is bound to be (as always) really popular. If you want to go this weekend, it will be open tonight until 11:30pm and then tomorrow from 12pm – 4:30pm and then 5:30pm – 11:30pm.

Entrance into the event is free until 5:30, after then there is a €10 entry fee on Fridays and Saturdays.

If you want to book yourself a table you can make a reservation here.

2. Tommy Tiernan, Vicar Street

The forever hilarious Navan man is returning to the stage in Vicar Street tonight and tomorrow with his new show, Under The Influence.

The Irish comedian is bound to give you a belly full of laughs with his show talking about the heroism of everyday life and the effort it takes just to survive the little things.

There is still some tickets left and you can book them here for €35.

Score!

3. Watch the All-Ireland Final In A Dublin Pub

lot of people will be tuning into this weekend’s exciting game. Dublin will face off against Mayo in the final that will determine who will not only be crowned the All-Ireland 2017 winners, but more importantly get their hands on the SAM.

If you haven’t bagged yourself a ticket to the game in Croke Park this Sunday, why not try many of the pubs around the city that will be showing the game. The atmosphere is bound to be electric.

We would recommend The Wool Shed on Parnell Street.

4. Mexican Independence Day, dTwo

Tomorrow Saturday 16, will see celebrations for Mexican Independence Day and a club in our city is having a fiesta event.

dTwo will be hosting the event tomorrow from 1pm – 9pm and will have Mexican music, food, culture, festivities and more.

It sounds amazing.

For more information on the event you can check out the Facebook event here.

5. Foil, Arms And Hog, The Abbey Theatre

We absolutely love this trio of Irish lads. Every time I see them, they only get funnier and I would definitely recommend seeing them this weekend.

Foil, Arms And Hog who have cracking comedy sketches uploaded every Thursday online, will be taking their new show, Oink, to The Abbey Theatre stage as part of the Dublin Fringe Festival.

The fast paced show will feature dance, song, rib-tingling laughs and much more. You really don’t want to miss out.

You can still get tickets for tonight’s show here, but you would want to be quick!

Will you check any of these out?
