6 Fun Things To Do In Dublin Tonight If You Can’t Stand The Football

Tonight, Ireland take on Denmark in the World Cup something-or-other and all the pubs will be hopping.

Fear not if you’re not into the footy or just fancy avoiding the long queues and crammed spaces that always come with these big matches as there’s plenty more to do in venues across the city. 

Take your pick and lookit if Ireland win you can always join in the craic afterwards!

1. Comedy Crunch at the Stag’s Head

Colm McGlinchey hosts a night of comedy downstairs in the Basement Bar featuring Gerry McBride Of Waterford Whispers fame along with Julie Jay, David Reilly and Christina McMahon. Doors open at 8pm.

2. Ukelele Tuesdays

The same venue will be hosting its weekly ukelele session in its upstairs Parlour Bar. If you’ve never been before give it a try. The craic is immense and everyone is welcome to join in, no matter their expertise.  

3. Sylvan Esso at the Tivoli Theatre

The American electronic duo take to the stage at 7.30pm with €18 tickets available on Ticketmaster.

4. Left Lane Cruiser at Whelans

Join the lads from Indiana as they bring their unique brand of blues-rock to Wexford Street. Doors open at 8pm. 

5. John Treacy at Bar Rua

An acoustic act perfect for a Tuesday night in the city. It gets underway at 9.30pm.

6. Grin and bear it! 

Sure look, if Ireland win the city will be absolutely hopping. Expect sing-songs on the streets, beeping horns from the cars and flags waving from windows. If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em!
