It’s that time of week again where last weekend’s hangover has finally left us be – and we start thinking about what we’re (and our hearts, heads and feelings) are going to get stuck into this weekend.
Thus continuing the Circle of Life.
This weekend has loads going on, with activities suited to the faint-hearted and not so much. Food, drinks and fun – all you have to do is choose…
1. Bow Lane Drag Brunch
August Drag Brunch is here on Sunday 27 from 3pm.
Run by the two women you’ll be happiest to see of a Sunday Morning, DJ and Host Davina Devine and Dolly Grip – this event is one not to be missed by Dubliners or tourists alike.
Brunch tables available from 2:15pm.
2. 2017 August Flea Market
‘A bizarre bazaar of vintage clothing, bric-a-brac and what nots.’
The last Sunday of each month, a flea market is set up at the Dublin Food Co-op, The Green Door Market, and on the square at Newmarket, Dublin 8 full of trinkets, treats and presents. Ideal for a Sunday peruse.
They do ask, however, that punters please come by foot, bike or bus – less fumes, less parking stress, more fun.
3. Spinster Roof Party
If you’re keen to dance your socks off this weekend – then there’s really no other choice.
Spinster‘s roof parties are synonymous with good times and great dancing – and this weekend’s event is also giving you the opportunity to win tickets to the completely sold-out Electric Picnic. What a time to be alive!
Everything kicks off at 11pm this Saturday night.
4. Dalkey Lobster Festival
The Dalkey Lobster Festival 2017 runs from Thursday 24 – Sunday 27 August.
This year it will be bigger and better than ever, drawing a huge family-friendly crowd to one of the most charming seaside towns in Ireland.
The town itself will be dolled up to the nines, ready to greet you in any one of its divine eateries.
All you have to do is eat…
5. Ukulele Hooley 2017
Ukulele Hooley By The Sea in Dun Laoghaire is Ireland’s international ukulele festival now in its eighth year – and it’s just as fun as you’d imagine.
The weekend is made up of the finest ukulele performers, music, workshops, jamming, open mic and the ubiquitous Uke Bus Busk! An utter phantasmagoria of ukulele celebration for ukulele lovers from all over the world.
Everything kicks off this Sunday at 10am.
6. Talking Heads – Stop Making Sense @ The Lighthouse
By now a Light House Cinema tradition, the powers-that-be are thrilled to bring back Jonathan Demme’s spectacular Talking Heads concert film Stop Making Sense on Saturday, August 26 – arguably the greatest recorded gig all time – for a night of partying, disco and foolin’ around.
Join the crew for some late-night dancing and cocktails in the cinema with David Byrne and co. Everything kicks off Saturday at 10:45pm.
7. POUND Party & Birthday Bash
Dublin’s most fantastic fitness craze is celebrating its birthday with a shin-dig to end all shin-digs, and everyone is welcome.
Whether your a regular pounder, a one time pounder or a wanna be pounder come and join in on the fun in Krystle on Harcourt Street from 11pm – they have the balcony area upstairs reserved.
