7 Unreal Places To Get A Massive Feed Before Ireland V New Zealand Today

Today is the day we've all been waiting for. 

We're all ready for a serious showdown between Ireland and New Zealand this evening. 

Whether it's a roast, fish or wings – here's where to get your grub on before the clash.

1. Fowl Play @ The Square Ball

This gorge little bar on Hogan Place serve up heavenly rotisserie chicken and unreal chicken wings (as seen above). 

It's free range, wood-fired and for €13.50, you can get a quarter chicken, two sides and a sauce. Choose from fried pickle frickles, sweet potato mash or peanut butter slaw amongst other yummy sides. 

They'll also be showing the match later so there's no need to even move your arse – stay for the day.

2. Whitefriar Grill

If you're hankerin' after a big, juicy plate of meat, then Whitefriar is where you're headed. 

Their 'ribs n rump' platter is mounded high with rump steak, sticky BBQ ribs and thick cut chips. 

At €27.50, it's perfect for one extremely hungry divil or to share between to peckish pals.

3. Brookwood

These guys know their shit when it comes to a good roast.

Located centrally on Baggot Street Lower, the focus here is very much on beef and it has to be tasted to be believed.

They do an awesome burger too.

4. The Goat

The Goat on Kilmacud Road is well known for a massive roast. 

Unreal meat, spuds and gravy – the perfect base for a feed of celebratory pints.

Their bangers and mash are also out of this world.

5. The Exchequer

A beaut feed for the entire fam and a most reliable roast.

Prices from €60 for four people, including a buideál of wine. A worthy investment. 

6. Catch 22

Get your fish and chips fix. With mushy peas.


Throw on a side of calamari for good measure. 

7. Tribeca

Yup. You guessed it.

Wings. Glorious wings

The perfect pre-match meal. You just can't go wrong. And then choose from one of Ranelagh's wonderful bars and pubs to watch the showdown between Ireland and New Zealand.
