In a heartwarming
move, friends of Clodagh Cogley, one of the victims of the Berkeley
balcony collapse survivors, are organising a fundraiser to help those affected by the tragedy. The concert will take place later this month on Thursday,
July 23 in the Academy in Dublin.
Many acts have been
confirmed for the event with many yet to be announced, among them are
Jape, Vann Music, Heroes in Hiding, Dublin Gospel Choir, Knights of
Leon, Neon Atlas and Mongoose, while ex-Westlife member Nicky Byrne
will be master of ceremonies.
All proceeds from
the event will go towards helping the families who were injured by
the Berkley tragedy, which took the lives of six students and left seven others seriously injured, such as Clodagh Cogley who
suffered two collapsed lungs, a broken shoulder and knee, five broken
ribs and a broken spinal cord.
Tickets cost €25
and are
on sale now.
Anyone who can’t attend but wishes to make a donation to the fund can visit its
Go Fund Me page.
The aim is to raise €10,000, but we hope they’ll far exceed their target for this very worthy cause!
