A security man in his 20s was rushed to hospital yesterday after he was stabbed three times with a screwdriver.

The violent attack took place in the Boots store in Omni Shopping Centre in Santry at roughly 2:30pm, according to Independent.ie

It's believed the stabbing took place after the security man confronted shoplifters in the pharmacy.

He was taken to the Mater Hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

No arrests have been made but Gardaí in Santry are appealing for information relating to the attack.
