This Travel Writer Came To Ireland To Write About How Lovely It Is – Then Got All His Stuff Stolen
One unlucky German travel writer has been robbed of some very valuable equipment while in Dublin. Yesterday, Dirk Heckmann visited The Today FM building in the hope that the audience would be able to help him in his search.
Writing a guidebook to caravaning in Ireland destination with sponsorship from Failte Ireland, writer Dirk Heckmann has been in Ireland for a month exploring the Wild Atlantic Way.
On Tuesday evening the German left his van parked in Phoenix Park between 5.30pm and 8.30pm, it was during this time that his vehicle was broken into and many pieces of his equipment had been taken. Not only has his property been taken, but he's lost all the valuable images he captured of our country during the last 16 days.
Among the stolen items stolen were a Canon 7D Mark IIan Apple Mac Notebook 17 inch, a Typhoon Q500+ drone and Canon Teleconverter 1,4x and two 500 GB hard drives from Jobo Giga Vu sonic (containing his invaluable images).
