On Tuesday we told you about graphic abortion posters which were erected outside the Rotunda Maternity Hospital in Dublin.
The man behind the posters gave a radio interview with 98FM stating he was only showing “images [that] you can see in biology text books.”
He refused to apologise to people for these posters which were described as “shocking” and “disgusting” by some of the 98FM listeners when the radio station posted the pictures online.
So, an Irish group called ‘Radical Queers Resist’ decided that if the posters weren’t to be taken down, they would just have to block them out instead.
They did so by hanging ‘Repeal’ memorabilia, sheets and the rainbow flag in front of them as shown below…
We will NOT tolerate abusive and distressing images on our streets. Punishing tragedy and re-traumatising vulnerable people is not okay, and we will not stand for it. #Resist #RQRGonnaFuckYouUp #QueerPower pic.twitter.com/ox54UUqJzm

They stated that: “We will NOT tolerate abusive and distressing images on our streets. Punishing tragedy and re-traumatising vulnerable people is not okay, and we will not stand for it”
“We won’t back down until they do. Images are being blocked, pride flags are on their way. Stay safe everyone, avoid this area if you need to.”
The man behind these posters stated in the interview that none of the posters were focused on the upcoming referendum.
“These are images you can see in biology text books, I don’t need to apologise for that,” said the organiser before adding that the posters “promote people’s rights to see the reality to help them make a decision about lots of things, including the upcoming vote… but none of our signs say how someone should vote.”
“Our critics don’t want to see us holding those signs anywhere.”
