Dublin Zoo takes part in a European breeding programme for white rhinos, of which there are only 18,000 in the world.
The zoo also financially supports the Zimbabwe conservation programme, Lowveld Rhino Trust, which helps to protect rhinos from poachers and also treats wounded rhinos.
