Slap bang in the middle of the summer, both Dublin’s Merrion Square and Cork’s Fitzgerald Park are home to the biggest street performance festival in the world.
Yep, the world.
This year, alongside the world’s best street performers, the festival is celebrating its 12th year with expanded programming in children creative and cultural workshops, family activities, artisan food and much more.
And we’re here to answer all the questions you may or may not have about it.
1. When and where does the City Spectacular take place?
This year Laya Healthcare’s City Spectacular will be in Merrion Square Dublin on July 7 – 9.
2. What are the opening times of the festival?
12 noon – 8pm each day in each venue.
3. What facilities are available at the festivals?
There are (unreal) food stalls, toilets and disabled access.
Just Eat will be there with the Just Eat Waiter Service, serving up delicious dishes from Kanum, Shaka Poké, Boojum, Burger Republic and Kerala Kitchen.
4. Are dogs allowed?
Yes indeed!
5. What’s the story with tipping performers?
The performers have dedicated their lives to this amazing art form. They rely on you, the audience, to make a living. If you like what you see, give a contribution and show your appreciation for some of the most talented street performers in the world.
6. And finally, what should we expect?
Incredible performances, whopper food (including yumm ShakaPoké), happy kids and puppies and a whopper day out for all.
