Gardaí are appealing to the public for witnesses after a man was discovered unconscious in Bray in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The man had serious head injuries and was discovered not too far from Bray Boxing Gym where an attack took place earlier in the week.

It is unknown whether the attack is related to the boxing club incident.

Emergency services were notified at 2am and arrived on the scene immediately before transferring him to Beaumont Hospital.

Katie Taylor's dad Pete Taylor was among three men who were shot at Bray Boxing Club on Tuesday morning, one was fatally injured.

Pete Taylor was in fact the intended target of the gunman according to Gardaí.

Katie has since released a full statement regarding the attack where she urged "the media to leave me, my Mum and other family members out of this story."
