Cars Might Be Diverted Away From The Quays, According To This New Proposal

Private cars might be diverted away from the quays, if a new proposal comes into effect.

The proposed route, named Option 7, would see cars able to drive on the quays between the James Joyce Bridge and the Four Courts, and would see pedestrians, cyclists, and bus drivers getting priority.

The controversial proposal was reached after much debate among councillors ruled out several other route options, including a plan to divert bicycles from the quays. 

The map below shows you where the diversions will be in place.

According to Irishcycle.com, the plan will be put before councillors and other committee members this Wednesday, before being formally presented as part of the Liffey Cycle Route at a committee meeting this November 23.
