The Workman's Club is turning five years old this week and they plan to kick off the birthday celebration with a comedy performance lead by Al Porter.
The festivities will involve a week-long set of very special shows, and to really drive home the fact that this is their fifth birthday, each show is just €5.
At tonight's show you can enjoy the comedy stylings of 2fm's Al Porter, who will be supported by Fred Cooke and Andrea Farrell.
Then tomorrow, The Hot Sprockets will perform at the venue. This is followed by 'Somewhere?', featuring two floors of DJs, one floor indie, with another dedicated to hip hop, R'n'B and house.
On Thursday, you can look forward Little Green Cars with Other Creatures. After that show, you can enjoy Claire Beck, who will be rolling out some serious indie tunes from her awesome TXFM show, while Louche (Nightflight) spins some house and disco.
On Friday night, Little Green Cars will perform with Bleeding Heart Pigeons. The late night performance will come from Ronan Considine (Groovement Soul), who'll be pumping some disco and house jams, while Rob Smith will give some indie classics as whirl.
Finally on Saturday, Eternal Summers will play with Pleasure Beach. That late night's show will feature Trev, D-Reills and Steven Gannon with indie anthems, from the brand new to the classics, as Marquis Dalton vs Dave Salacious will be spinning house and disco tunes.
