Christmas is just days away! At this point you’ve probably just resigned to the fact that you’re going to be broke until February so you may as well just go with the flow and enjoy the rest of the fun and exciting events that Dublin has to offer in the run up until Christmas. Check out our top picks for this this weekend…
The Christmas Concert
The iconic ‘Walking In The Air’ song from The Snowman plays a part in almost everyone’s earliest Christmas memories. Now you can see it in the regal location of the National Concert Hall from Friday to Sunday, with a live score performed by the National Orchestra. This year they have even incorporated live puppetry and narration into the spectacle, this is definitely one the little ones will enjoy as well.
The Magician
No you’re not going to see white rabbits being pulled out of top hats, but chances are you’re still going to be enthralled by what this man can do to a dance floor tomorrow night in The Button Factory. Known mostly for THAT remix of Lykke Li’s I Follow Rivers, there’s a lot more to The Magician than just one tune. His infamous ‘Magic Tapes’ on Soundcloud have gathered him quite the following, and his sets never disappoint.
Seven Quarters’ Christmas Party
Seven Quarters returns to Whelans tomorrow night with its last club of the year and goes out with a bang with performances by Belfast’s Not Squares who have been busy refining their unique brand of disco-pop sensibilities into a seamless stream of danceable grooves ready for release in Spring 2015. Dublin based act Percolator will also be on the lineup. The last Seven Quarters of 2014 is the perfect way to let loose before we rush to the suburbs and countryside for too much eating and drinking with the family.
