A New Change Is Coming To The Weekday DARTs And It’s Going To Be Very Different

This is a first for the DART and tbh, we're actually delighted to see it happen.

98FM is reporting that the DART services in the capital will now run every ten minutes during the weekdays.

The new and improved service will start just before seven in the mornings and will continue like that until 8pm.

A spokesperson for Irish Rail said that although the changes mean more trains for commuters, journeys will end up taking longer than usual.

"To get through the city centre, we now have more trains so it's going to take longer to get them through with the stopping patterns".

She explained that the journey time would slow down by about "two to three minutes" and that "other services remain unchanged or some may be faster".

The trains will run every ten minutes in both directions between Bray and Howth Junction, alternating between Howth and Malahide between 6:50 and 20:00.

Ten minute DARTs were first proposed back in 2016 and it was confirmed in May of this year that they had gotten the go-ahead.

In May, Minister Ross also announced the rail link from Kildare to the city centre via the Phoenix Park rail tunnel would be expanded to an all day service.
