More than 10 years after a ‘Regeneration Board’ was set up to transform the flats in St. Teresa’s Gardens, today the flats began to come down.
The flats have been home to over 300 families since they were built over 70 years ago, but in recent years they have fallen into complete disrepair.
The good news is that the building work on new units will start in early 2016 as the local council phases in modern housing in the form of apartments and houses.

Some might have considered them an eyesore after being around so long, but hopefully the new developments will be a much nicer place for people to live.
