Diarmuid Connolly Rumoured To Make Serious Amount Of Money Playing GAA In America

The Irish GAA world, especially those in the capital, were left in shock at the start of the week when it was announced that Diarmuid Connolly would be changing colours for the summer.
The St. Vincent's man will be togging out in yellow and green kit this summer as he swaps Dublin for Donegal, Donegal Boston that is.
He has only featured in one game all year for the dubs, coming on against Mayo as a sub in the league.
The 31-year-old also featured very little in last year's championship because of his 12-week ban.
The Irish Mirror is reporting that the multi All-Ireland winning baller could be making a pretty decent penny playing football in America.
It is rumoured that Connolly has been offered €30,000 plus bonuses for the swap but sources have been unable to confirm whether he has accepted a deal or not yet.
A source told the publication that: “Clubs all over America were monitoring Connolly’s situation and he had serious offers from a number of clubs.
“Clubs in Boston and San Francisco reached out with a package but everything was wrapped up when he met with representatives from one club in Dublin last week.
“He has been offered €30,000 plus flights and accommodation, while clubs trying to sign high-profile players would usually offer a bonus of around €5,000 if they win the championship.
“This package would comfortably make him the best-paid player to ever make the move. Clubs have paid as much as €20,000 in the past, but this would certainly set a record. Club officials see it as a no brainer.”
Lovin Dublin got in touch with Donegal Boston about the matter and they said that:
"I’m afraid its far from definite if Diarmuid will line out for us. Diarmuid has to complete a sanction if he wants to play for a team over here and then he needs to sign the transfer in Boston or wherever.
"As far as I’m aware he isn’t in Boston at the minute so won’t be playing this weekend anyway."
This comes on the same day that Dublin received some very bad news about Stephen Cluxton's injury which he sustained on Sunday against Longford.
