Everybody seems to be talking about Electric Picnic right now (us included, but hush), but we're here to help you fight that dreaded FOMO.
We've assembled a little list of stuff for you to do over the next few days which is not only EP-free, it's also alcohol-free. So without further ado, here are five things to do this weekend that aren't Electric Picnic:
One for you arty types. Returning for her first solo show in two years, Róisín O’Farrell uses flowers as her inspiration for this highly anticipated show. Featuring the heavy blooms of peonies and roses and the striking geranium, Róisín brings a contemporary feel to a traditional subject with her new showcase.
You can find the exhibition at The Doorway Gallery at 24 South Frederick Street, and it will run until September 24. Find out more about it here.
Movie buffs, this is for you. The Sugar Club is kicking off its season of iconic movie screenings with Blade Runner: The Final Cut. Directed by Ridley Scott and starring Harrison Ford, the classic sci-fi thriller follows bounty hunter Deckard as he searches LA for renegade androids lead by one of cinema's most compelling villains, Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer).
The film will be screened tonight at The Sugar Club at 9.30pm, get your tickets for the event here.
Here's an Irish comedy that you can catch this weekend. Written by one of Ireland's best playwrights, Marie Jones, the story follows two community care workers called Francis and Lorreta, and poses the question: are we more valued in life or in death?
Tickets go from €19.65 and will start at 7.30pm everyday until September 19, with a matinee tomorrow at 2.30pm. Get your tickets here.
Here's something for the family. The Irish Marching Band Association will be holding its national championships this Saturday and performances can be enjoyed by the Tallaght Youth Band, the Vikings Drum Corps and the Dublin Thunder Cheerleaders, among others.
The championships will kick off at 2pm tomorrow in Dalymount Park.
If you're looking for a good auld laugh this weekend, look no further. The Mock The Week host is bringing his brand of charismatic, intelligent, and fast-talking comedy back to Vicar Street with his new show 'Crowd Tickler.'
