Deciding on a venue for your Christmas party is one thing, but finding one that isn’t booked up yet? Well, that’s a whole other kettle of fish.
It’s officially 100 days until Christmas, but hey who’s counting right?
Wrong. It seems the whole country has their countdowns set and it’s never too early to start planning your Christmas do. Especially in Dublin where places book out lightning fast.
I’ve done a bit of digging and put together a list of some of Dublin’s finest establishments for a festive celebration.
Cleaver East
This place is extremely popular for its boozy brunch, so you already know that it does good food and drinks. It's right in Temple Bar so you’re guaranteed a buzz any night of the week. Gorgeous interiors too.
Chai Yo
I have yet to meet someone who doesn’t love Chai Yo. Seeing your food cooked in front of you is such a novelty, even more so when you’re not the one doing it. And the chefs here really know how to put on a show and entertain.
The Odeon Bar
I’m just so in awe of the building. The vintage train station architecture is pretty impressive to be fair. This place gives me serious old Hollywood glamour vibes, very Gatsby-esque. Ideal for a fancier, slightly more indulgent shindig.
NoLita
Taking its name from the famous NYC neighbourhood North of Little Italy,
NoLita combines the best of two worlds to form something between a New York-style bar and an Italian eatery. Great cocktails too.
Zozimus
Everyone knows the hanging multi-coloured umbrellas outside Zozimus, it’s probably one of Dublin’s most instagrammable streets. And inside Zozimus is no different. Chic, elegant, atmospheric. Perfect for a merry drink…or two.
The Church
Christmas and religion go hand in hand so why not have your party at The Church. No, not that Church…the other Church. Multiple areas to choose from depending on the size of your party. This place really brings the magic of silly season to life.
The Jar
A personal favourite on a night out, The Jar is also a great spot for a festive get-together. Perched on Wexford Street, it’s a trendy bar that does very tasty wood-fired pizzas. Expect a warm welcome.
9 Below
Hidden away from the masses, you’d walk right past this place unless you knew it was there. And I kind of like that, it gives it an exclusive feel and makes you seem like you really know your way around (fake it till you make it eh). Think art deco luxury; a calming haven away from the madness of Stephen’s Green.
Fire
See how the other half live and book into Fire. The restaurant is housed in the illustrious Mansion House, the official residence of the Lord Mayor of Dublin, and exudes history and culture. As the name suggests, it’s a cosy hub perfect for a Christmas celebration. A welcome retreat from the cold.
4 Dame Lane
One of Dublin’s funkiest venues. Snug style seating on the ground floor, renovated loft upstairs. This place is all about relaxing and letting loose, there are even foosball and ping-pong tables on hand to get some friendly competition going.
