Drivers Warned Of Mental Traffic From 1pm As Christmas Exodus Begins

James Fenton

It seems that today is one of those weird days where some people are in work while others have managed to shnake an extra day off before the Christmas.

If you are one of the lucky ones and have some Christmas traveling to do, we’d suggest you get it out of the way early. AA Roadwatch has warned that traffic will get heavy from about 1pm today as people start driving home for the festive weekend.

A statement reads:

‘On Friday 22 December traffic levels will start to build up from 1pm as those leaving city centres around the country make their way home for Christmas before traffic starts to die down again after approximately 4pm.’

If you can’t make it on to the roads by one o’clock, it might be best to leave it until later this evening or spend an extra night in Dublin tonight.
