Dublin Airport May Be Getting A Third Terminal

James Fenton

It was revealed yesterday that the addition of a third terminal to Dublin Airport is being considered.

The suggestion was raised in a review to deal with increasing traffic congestion at the airport ahead of the building of a new runway in early 2017.

According to The Irish Times, Transport Minister Shane Ross said on Tuesday that the Cabinet will commission a review of demand that will include “the possibility of a third terminal at Dublin Airport”

Residents living near the airport have aired concerns about increased air traffic caused by the proposed new runway.

Ross confirmed he has acknowledged those grievances by stating:

“There is an overwhelming case to build a new runway and it needs to be built quickly. However, the very legitimate concerns of the residents about increasing traffic at the airport will be taken into account and public consultation arrangements will be made.”

What do you think? Will another terminal be beneficial to our city? Let us know in the comments.
