New 300-Seat Rooftop Dublin Restaurant And Bar “Will Provide Unique And Unrivalled Views Of The City”

The redevelopment of the Central Bank has been given the green light and the €75m redevelopment will include a new rooftop bar and restaurant.

The Herald is reporting that Dublin City Council has granted planning permission for the development on Dame Street which will feature the brand new eating and drinking spot in the city.

The planner behind the new rooftop bar and restaurant said that it “will provide unique and unrivalled views of the city and is likely to be a major future tourist attraction”.

There was one complaint about the new development from a local resident who said that if the plans went ahead, “any privacy I currently enjoy is gone”.

The resident’s main fear was that those who were looking out from the bar and restaurant would be able to see directly into his garden.

His complaint was refused by the board and although they agreed that the garden would be looked into from time to time, “the impact on one private individual’s visual amenity must be balanced against the wider benefits economically, culturally and in urban design terms which the proposed development will bring to the city centre.”

This news comes on the same day that it was announced that a Dublin ‘Superpub’ is coming to one of the cities best nightlife areas.
