Dublin Fire Brigade Are Warning Owners Of This Clothes Dryer To Stop Using It Immediately

Alana Laverty

Dublin Fire Brigade have today issued a warning about certain clothes dryers due to risk of fire.

The dryers in question are the Beko or Blomberg Condenser Tumble Dryer 8kg or 9kg purchased between May 2012 and May 2013.

These dryers are at risk of failing and overheating which could then lead to a fire – Dublin Fire Brigade are advising owners to stop using them immediately.

Beko is offering a free of charge in-home check and are offering to modify affected products to remove any potential risk.

What to do if you think you have an affected dryer?

  • Check the model and serial number of your 8kg or 9kg Beko or Blomberg Condenser Tumble Dryer here
  • If your product is within the potentially affected range, please register online for a qualified engineer to visit your property to check and, if required, repair your product. Alternatively, you can call Beko  on: 0800 917 2018 or 1800 25 29 25 in Ireland to speak to a member of their customer service team.

Better safe than sorry.
