Dublin Fire Brigade has shared photos from an extensive fire they fought tirelessly last night.
Two fire units attended the scene at the lead mines at Carrickgollogan near Kilternan.
The recent warm weather has definitely taken its toll on Dublin’s dry landscapes.
They gave a heads up that there’d be lots of smoke in the area:

Dublin Fire Brigade then shared this disappointing tweet showing a burnt out bonfire with the message, “Unfortunately our message doesn’t always register”…
Unfortunately our message doesn’t always register. This bonfire was found close to the gorse fire we are currently dealing with. #Kilternan pic.twitter.com/QNl3XwYBvd

Time and time again they have warned against this exact behavior but, yet again, it appears to have fallen on deaf ears.
Crews from Dún Laoghaire and Rathfarnham finished up at the scene after 11.30pm.

As always, fair play to Dublin Fire Brigade for keeping our fair city and county safe.
