Dublin named on list of top 50 most beautiful cities but almost missed the cut

Dublin has been named on the list of the top 50 most beautiful cities in the world.

The list was put together by, who deemed Paris the most beautiful city while Dublin almost missed the cut of the top 50.

Ireland’s capital came in at 45th on the list; ahead of Marrakesh, Bergen, Jaipur, Beijing and Athens, according to the travel industry’s leading 1000 professionals.

Dublin was the only Irish city to make the list and was selected for its rich history, friendly pubs and variety of tours.

Tourism Ireland were confident that Dublin ought to be challenging further up the list but it wasn’t to be this year.

Sandra Moffatt from Tourism Ireland commented: “Dublin is a lively capital city that’s as intimate as a village and as friendly as your local Irish pub – cobblestone streets and cathedral steeples, with a stunning coastline surrounded by mountains, Dublin is definitely the world’s most beautiful city!”
