A Ryanair plane which was headed for Dublin Airport was left with minor damages after it was hit by another plane at Stansted Airport on Friday morning.
Both planes were on the taxiway of the runway at the time when one of the planes clipped the tail of the Ryanair aircraft.
An spokesperson for the airport said that:
"Following a minor ground incident, two aircraft due to depart were required to return to stand. All flights have now resumed and our runway is open and operational. Thank you."
The incident took place shortly after 9:15am.
Ryanair said in a statement that: "One of our aircraft was stationary at the designated holding point on the taxiway at London Stansted Airport this morning when the winglet of a Primera Air aircraft taxiing behind scraped its tail stabiliser.
"Both aircraft were under the instruction of London Stansted Air Traffic Control at the time.
"The Ryanair aircraft returned to stand to be inspected by Ryanair engineers.
"To minimise delay, customers will transfer to a replacement aircraft later this morning."
The accident comes on the same day that Ryanair announced a summer sale as 150 popular routes were revealed.
