There’ll be a whole lot to celebrate at this year’s Dublin LGBTQ Pride Festival…
In the past few months not only has gay marriage been legalised, but the government have also made great strides in finalizing the Gender Recognition Bill, so it’s fitting that this year’s Pride from June 19 to June 27 is set to be the biggest one yet.
Perusing the website you’ll see the incredibly varied range of events on offer this year including picnics, soapbox sessions, workshops, fun runs, film screenings, bingo, performance art and a heap of parties.
The annual Pride Parade will take place on Saturday the 27th, with participants gathering from 12pm at the Garden of Remembrance for a 1pm start. The 2015 parade promises to be the largest ever LGBTQ parade in Irish history so it’ll certainly be one to remember! If you’d like to get involved in the parade, there are plenty of groups looking for people to walk with them such as Shoutout below.
There’s only one place to celebrate after the Pride Parade, and that’s at Mother’s Pride Block Party. Now in their third year, they’re moving to the bigger location the backyard of District 8 (formerly The Tivoli) complete with full bars, food vendors, sideshows, and plenty of sequins. Anyone wanting to continue partying until the wee hours will be able to toddle inside District 8 after midnight for the after party.
Sheesh, we’re exhausted just thinking about how much fun this will be… Roll on Pride 2015!
