Analysis carried out by Allianz Global Assistance has found that “Reykjavik’s popularity with American travelers is up and Barcelona’s is down”.
And Dublin, is just chilling somewhere in between.
There was a significant sign of movement on the list compared to 2017 but London and Paris are still the most popular destinations this summer.
Reykjavik’s journey on the list has been something else, however. Starting in 28th position in 2015, the destination has just gone up and up, breaking the top 20th in 2016 (16th) and 2017 (17th) before sky-rocketing up to third place this year.
As for Dublin, we’re a very respectable 6th on the board, remaining in the same position as last year.
We once hit the dizzy heights of 4th in 2016 but have since dropped two places. We also held a fifth place title in 2015.
