Dublin Zoo has announced that they’re cancelling their hugely popular Wild Lights event on Friday.

With ‘dangerous winds’ forecast for the capital tomorrow, they decided that it would be too risky to go ahead and instead offered everyone a full refund.

Met Éireann issued a status orange gale warning for all coastal regions in the country earlier today, with gusts of 110 to 130km/h expected to arrive overnight.

Dublin Zoo released a statement that said, ‘Following a consultation from Met Eireann regarding dangerous winds forecasted tomorrow, Wild Lights has been cancelled for Friday 7th December 2018.

‘The decision was made because the health and safety of our visitors and staff is a priority at all times.

‘Wild Lights ticket-holders for this date will be sent an email with full details in regards to the cancellation via the email address which was registered when of booking.’

Dublin Zoo added that there are still tickets available for selected dates should anyone wish to rebook for another time.

You can see a full list available dates and buy tickets via the Dublin Zoo website here.
