Dublin’s First ‘Cat Café’ May Be On Its Way

seank

Dubliners clearly love their dog-friendly establishments, but how do we feel about cat-friendly places? Because that’s exactly what Crazy Cat Café hopes to be.

The cat café isn’t a new idea, with the first one opening in Taiwan back in 1998, before becoming incredibly popular in Japan (and we all know how much the Japanese love cats).

In one of these coffee houses, pussy lovers can come in and play with its furry residents while enjoying a cuppa. Heaven for some, we’re sure.

Take a look at this New York cat café for an idea of what to expect.

It’s essentially a playground for cats that people can observe, with walls for them to climb, a grass patch for the animals to lay on, and beanbag where they can chill out.

With regular health checks taking place, the welfare of the cats is the owner’s primary concern.
With nearly 4,000 followers on Facebook, Crazy Cats Café definitely appeals to many Dubliners.

But if the coffeehouse is to open, it needs more support from the public. If you want to see Crazy Cats Café open in Dublin, you can donate to its Kickstarter page here.
