Taoiseach Enda Kenny’s visit to the USA on St Patrick’s Day was officially confirmed today by the White House Press Secretary, Sean Spicer.
Spicer said that an invitation was extended to Mr Kenny and that invitation was accepted during the transition period.
The press secretary described the subject as something that was “near and dear” to him.

Before the election wad announced, Kenny was quoted in The Irish Independent as saying ”I’ll meet Donald Trump and tell him why his views are racist and dangerous”.
The general consensus of the people of Ireland think he’s going to go back on his word, and have been expressing their hatred on Twitter.
#vinb Enda Kenny will go to the white house with his tail between his legs as aTaoiseach not accepted by the people of Ireland

Only time will tell whether the people of Ireland come around or not, but until then – we can’t wait to see what happens.
