Events to Visit This Weekend - 6th to 8th February

There's loads of different events taking place over the weekend, so here's our pick of the best bits.

The Lost Fashion History of Merrion Square Tour

See Merrion Square through a fashion lens and follow in the footsteps of its most stylish residents from couturiers such as Sybil Connolly to poets, politicians, Dukes and the twentieth century's literary greats. This Saturday at 2pm Ruth Griffin will lead the event, helping you find out why the Square has such a special place in Dublin's fashion history. Ruth has worked with such organisations as Vogue, the Irish Times and NCAD, to name but a few. She will commence with an insightful talk and coffee in the Friends Room of the National Gallery, following which we will set out on foot to explore the remarkable and almost lost fashion history of Merrion Square.

Merrion Square - Oscar Wilde 03

Raised on a diet of UK & US Garage, House and early rave music - Huxley has moulded his sound into his own distinctive house music. Since his first show in The Grand Social in 2013 he has gone on to become this year's DJ Mag TOP British Producer of the year and returns this Friday for his District 8 debut. This is going to be his biggest Irish show to date, and one not to be missed.

Jesus Christ Superstar

The infamous 1970s musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber is in the middle of a two week run at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre. This all-singing, all-dancing spectacle is a glittering modern-day telling of the life of Christ. Hilariously infectious viewing, with a serious feel good factor fuelled by all the gospel singing.

Squid Inc. Presents Leftside Wobble

Producer, Dj and all round good time merchant Leftside Wobble joins Squid Inc. for the launch of their club night. Hosted in the awesome surroundings of Tengu Yamamori Sushi Bar this Saturday night will be filled with great funk, disco and house music.

Generator Smithfield Market Fair

There'll be a market fair taking place in the Generator Hostel in Smithfield on Sunday. With 40 various stalls selling all sorts of wares from clothing to records, arts and crafts to jewellery, you'll be spoilt for choice. On the day there will also be live music, djs and tons of different types of food on sale, so why not make a day of it?
