This weekend is a hell of a weekend to be in Dublin with everything from Culture Night to Octoberfest taking place. No matter what you’re into, there is something to tickle your fancy.
Oktoberfest
At this point I’m sure most of you are well familiar with Oktoberfest Dublin which takes place for two weeks on Georges Dock starting this Friday. Go to this if you fancy beer, fun and frolics. They even have lunchtime music and drink sessions during the work week if you feel like sneaking out of the office for an hour.
Culture Night
Culture Night 2014 comprises of hundreds of events across Ireland and overseas. From the nation’s capital to county towns, everyone’s getting involved. It’s taking place this Friday from 5pm – 11pm.
Peoples Art at Stephens Green
People’s Art Dublin is a voluntary, part time, non profit making group, brought together by Dublin City Council to promote the visual arts to the public of Dublin. Each year after expenses are paid, donations are made to various charities. You can just the art on display from Friday to Sunday.
BlueFire Fest
BlueFire Street Fest 2014 takes place in Smithfield Square in Dublin city centre on Saturday 20th September and aims to showcase the diverse range of people and cultures that now call Dublin home through music and the arts.
Harvest Banquet – IMMA
If you’re a food fanatic then you have to check out the Harvest Banquet in the IMMA this Saturday which is being organised by one of our favourite foodies, Michelle Darmody of the Cake Cafe. Chef Giles Clark who has worked in Noma, Chez Panisse, St.John, with the Young Turks and now in Koya will be cooking up all sorts of delights.
After receiving a welcome cocktail guests will be sat in the formal garden to eat a five course meal. There will be a fire pit in the meadow of IMMA where people can see Giles cook. To buy tickets click here.
