Fancy Going To A Cultured Concert? The Dublin International Piano Festival Starts Today

seank

The third annual Dublin International Piano Festival and Summer Academy starts today and will continue until August 2.

Founded in 2013 by pianists Archie Chen and Rhona Gouldson, the festival presents an exciting concert series for the piano loving public, as well as intensive and educational workshops for advanced piano students from around the world.

Our mission is to assist the next generation of pianists through a programme of piano tailored to foster excellence and to promote and present the international piano masters to audiences in Dublin.

Archie Chen, Artistic Director

Participants in the summer academy will be practicing to perform in public over the course of the festival, their performances will include an outreach concert for the residents at Harold’s Cross Hospice and a final gala concert at the Hugh Lane Gallery.

The festival will also deliver performances from a host of world-renowned pianists, such as Edmund Battersby and Evelyne Brancart from Indiana University Bloomington, Lance Coburn from the Royal Irish Academy of Music, and HJ Lim.

Archie Chen will be playing at Hugh Lane Gallery tomorrow at noon, with a programme that includes Mozart and Chopin, and tickets are €10 at the door.
