Three girls have been injured in a dog attack which took place in Finglas on Sunday afternoon.
A car pulled up to the entrance of a halting site and two dogs were "let loose" from the car. They subsequently went on to bite three young girls, according to The Irish Mirror.
The girls - ages 8, 12 and 17 - suffered bites to their arms and legs and while one dog was cornered, the second animal managed to get away.
It is being reported that locals of the area were celebrating their First Holy Communion and it was a high possibility that more could have been injured.
Michael Collins told The Irish Mirror that he had just arrived to the area to visit his mother and spotted the attack.
He got out of his van and managed to stop the attack on one of the girls.
“If I’d been 30 seconds later I think I’d be going to a funeral. It was like something from a horror movie.”
Gardai are currently investigating the matter and are appealing to witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
They confirmed that the three were brought to hospital where their injuries are thought to be minor.
