And according to Met Éireann, it’s here to stay.

The occasional shower will develop before midday. And, unfortunately for us, they’ll become more frequent in the afternoon.

Some heavy and thundery downpours are also likely throughout the rest of the day.

For a while, anyways.
The showers will generally die away later in the evening and most of the night will be dry and clear.
