Fantastic news – An Bord Pleanála have finally granted planning permission for the retention of the famous Pantibar sign on Capel Street.
It’s going nowhere.

Dublin City Council rejected an application to retain the sign back in May. One example of their bizarre reasoning was that the sign impacted “adversely on the character and integrity of the area”.
Which is gas because it literally adds enormously to the character of said area.
In response to the rejection Panti Bliss said she would be “fighting it tooth and acrylic nail” – and so this really is a huge triumph for all involved.
Delighted that Bord Pleanála gave planning permisssion for the sign. Well done @pantibliss pic.twitter.com/N8JdTkTAfM
