One Of Dundrum Town Centre’s Most Famous Shops Is Closing Down

Darragh Berry

Nobody wants to see the closing down sign on the front of any shop but unfortunately for one of Dundrum Town Centre’s most well-loved shops, that time has come.

The Times are reporting that the owners of the centre are in talks with leisure and food providers to see who will replace Hamleys Toy Store which will close its doors after a decade in Dundrum.

May 7th is the final day of the stores’ existence and it’s leaving vacant “one of the centre’s most prominent outlets, occupying 3,250 sq m over three floors.

The news comes after a neighbour of the stores, Urban Outfitters in Dundrum, closed its doors on Monday.

A spokesperson for Dundrum told the publication: “We are working closely with Hamleys as they plan their departure from the Irish market.”

“As part of our plans to continue to enhance our offer at Dundrum, we are in the process of looking at how this space can be transformed into a new leisure and dining experience for the centre.”

Hamleys were very disappointed to close the shop but thanked all their customers for their support since 2008.
