Here’s All You Need To Know About Public Transport In Dublin Today

If you’re heading out to visit the rellys today then you’d better plan ahead. 

Because trying to get around Dublin on public hols can usually be a bit of a mare. 

So, we’re trying to take that stress out of the whole ordeal for you all. 

Here’s all you need to know about public transport on Easter Sunday today in Dublin: 

Dublin Bus

  • Sunday service, no Nitelink service
  • On Easter Sunday, there will be temporary bus diversions in the city centre to facilitate the Easter Rising commemorations until approximately 3pm: 
    • Northbound routes at O’Connell Bridge: from first bus until 3pm.  Normal route to O’Connell Bridge then divert right to Eden Quay, Beresford Place, Gardiner St, left onto Parnell St and continue to normal route.
    • Southbound routes at O’Connell Street: from first bus until 3pm. Normal route onto O’Connell Street then divert left to Cathal Brugha St, right to Marlborough St, Rosie Hackett Bridge, Burgh Quay, D’Olier Street and then normal route. 
    • Route 14, 15, 27: Normal route to Memorial Rd then divert via Memorial Bridge, George’s Quay, Butt Bridge, Eden Quay and back onto normal route. 
    • Route 29a, 31/a/b & 32: Will pick up and depart from Talbot St but will not pick up at Abbey St. 
    • Route 33 & 41/a/b/c: Will terminate at Stop 300 Eden Quay. 
    • Route 123:
      • Northbound from first bus until 3pm. Normal route to O’Connell Bridge, then right onto Eden Quay, left into Beresford Place, Gardiner St, left onto Sean McDermott St, right onto Cumberland St, right onto Parnell St and normal route.
      • Southbound from first bus until 3pm. Normal route to Sean McDermott St then left to Marlborough St, Rosie Hackett Bridge, Burgh Quay, D’Olier Street and then normal route. 
    • Route 130: Will terminate at Stop 297 Eden Quay. 
    • Route 151 toward East Wall: Normal route to Eden Quay then divert via Beresford Place, Memorial Rd and back onto normal route.
    • Route 151 southbound: Normal route to Memorial Rd then divert via Memorial Bridge, George’s Quay, Butt Bridge, Eden Quay and back onto normal route. 
    • Route 747:
      • From airport, first bus until 3pm. Normal route to Talbot St then divert to Gardiner St, Beresford Place, Memorial Rd, Custom House Quay, Rosie Hackett Bridge, Burgh Quay, D’Olier Street and normal route.
      • Towards airport, first bus until 3pm. Normal route to O’Connell Bridge then right to Eden Quay, Busaras and normal route. 
      • City Tours:  From first bus until approx 3pm:
        • Towards terminus: Normal route to Bachelors Walk then divert straight to Eden Quay, left onto Marlborough St, right onto Abbey St, Gardiner St, left onto Sean McDermott St and terminate.
        • From terminus: Depart Sean McDermott St, left to Marlborough St, Rosie Hackett Bridge, Burgh Quay to D’Olier St and back onto normal route.
        • Luas

          • Normal Sunday Service: 7.00am–11.30pm*

          * Last Trams: Brides Glen – St. Stephen’s Green 11.00pm, Saggart – City Centre 10.50pm & Tallaght – The Point 11.00pm.

          DART

          • Sunday schedule between Connolly and Greystones only. No service between Connolly and Malahide/Howth to allow for engineering maintenance. 

          Dublin Bus will accept valid rail tickets for travel within the affected DART route.
