Friday 15th September is Dublin Park(ing) Day!
The initiative was started in San Francisco back in 2005 and now, it’s making an appearance right here in Dublin.
It sees car parking spaces in the city transformed into mini public parks, games or art installations for one day.
The aim of the day is to promote creativity, civic engagement, unscripted social interactions, generosity and play around the city.

Artists and designers as well as urban, environmental and public health activists will create unique installations around the city that’ll each make a statement in favour of more people-friendly streets.
It’s happening all around the city but to check out what parklet is closest to you, have a look at their interactive map.
