‘Humans Of Dublin’ Received An Incredibly Touching Letter From The Son Of The Man In This Photograph

Humans Of Dublin shared another heartwarming (and heartbreaking) story yesterday, this time from the son of an elderly gentleman who was photographed for one of the blog’s most touching entries last year. The man passed away last Sunday. 

Humans Of Dublin’s Peter Varga encountered the man, named Bill Doran, on Dun Laoghaire pier where he spoke of the loss of his wife 18 months before and how he waiting for his turn. He’d been convinced to visit the pier that day by his son and his wife, and he was surprised that it had made him happy.

Yesterday a letter was shared on the blog from Bill’s son Derrick, expressing just how much the post had meant to his father, describing it as one of the “highlights of his life”.
